Product Details
Potassium permanganate (KMnO₄) stands out as a highly efficient strong oxidizer, taking the physical form of deep purple crystals marked by a unique bluish metallic sheen. Its key physical parameters include a 240°C melting point and a density of 2.7 g/cm³. The product is completely odor-free, though explosive reactions may occur if it is brought into contact with certain organic compounds or highly oxidation-prone substances.
It dissolves readily in water and alkaline solutions, and only shows limited solubility in methanol, acetone and sulfuric acid. Thanks to its exceptional oxidizing performance, it is widely adopted as a reliable oxidizing agent in chemical production and various other relevant industrial scenarios.

Product Application
As a multi-scenario strong oxidizer, potassium permanganate is extensively applied in chemical production, playing a key role in the manufacturing of saccharin, vitamin C, isoniazid and benzoic acid. In pharmaceutical applications, it works reliably as a preservative, disinfectant, deodorizing agent and antidote.
For water purification and wastewater treatment projects, potassium permanganate acts as an efficient water treatment agent, which can oxidize hydrogen sulfide, phenols, iron, manganese and numerous organic and inorganic pollutants, while effectively controlling unpleasant odors and removing unwanted color from water bodies. In gas purification procedures, it is adopted to strip trace amounts of sulfur, arsenic, phosphorus, silanes, boranes and sulfides from target gas streams.
In the mining and metallurgy sectors, it supports the separation of molybdenum from copper materials, removes impurities from zinc and cadmium products, and acts as a high-performance oxidizing agent in compound flotation processes. It can also be used as a professional bleaching agent for special fabrics, waxes, oils and resins, an adsorbent filling material for gas masks, and a coloring treatment agent for wood and copper.
Food-grade potassium permanganate can be used as a qualified bleaching agent, disinfectant, deodorizer, water purification agent, and refining processing agent for carbon dioxide applied in beverage production. Benefiting from its outstanding oxidizing, deodorizing and disinfecting capabilities, it also has mature applications in the pharmaceutical industry as a preservative, disinfectant, deodorizer and antidote.
